BORSIG Membrane Technology GmbH (BMT) provides intelligent and innovative process solutions based on membrane separation technology. Within that the development of new processes establishing membrane technology in different industries leads to a broad range of applications. One example is presented here.

In a collaborative work ANDRITZ and BORSIG have developed a new propellant recovery unit, which has several benefits for recycling plant operators, particularly in terms of cost and ease of maintenance. The Propellant Membrane Recovery (PMR) is an innovative system with proven membrane gas process for safe, efficient and reliable recovery.

With the significantly improved lower OPEX structure the benefits of membrane technology in reference to classical downstream unit operations, like cryogenic condensation in this particular example, are shown.
